Eight bands battled but only one came out victorious at Splash City's Battle of the Bands on Friday,  June 11, in Collinsville.

Attention all 2010 high school graduates. Write an essay on the topic “That’s Amore- A Family’s Love” to apply for a $2,000 college scholarship.

Applications are due Friday, July 2.

The Scholarship is available to high school seniors graduating from public, private or parochial schools between January 1 and June 30, 2010. Students must live in the Unit 10 school district, but do not have to graduate from Collinsville High School.

All applicants submit the essay, of 1,000 words or less, and provide two letters of reference.
